emPower Central Coast Building & Energy Training Series: Mastering Air Sealing and Passive House for Builders & Architects emPower San Luis Obsipo County Learn how to sell and install air sealing that makes your customers happy and performs to 2019’s Title 24 requirements at emPower San Luis Obispo County’s two-day Building & Energy Training Series. The first training session, Mastering Air Sealing, will teach attendees the techniques and materials necessary for retrofit and new constructed Zero Net Energy code requirements. Through this class, they’ll also get comprehensive training on identifying and testing for air leakage in a building and sealing air during the design and planning stages. The next day, a Passive House for Builders and Architects training session will take place. In this course, professionals and students alike will discover the keys to maximizing energy efficiency through the passive house skillset. These training sessions are ideal for architects and contractors, as well as college students focusing on environmental studies, energy management, and building science. Speaker Terry Nordbye will be leading both sessions. He has led numerous courses and seminars on deep air sealing, advanced framing, and high-performance building at colleges and professional forums.
